Richie Herskowitz was a student at Plano Senior High School and served as team manager for the boys’ basketball team.  Born with Cystic Fibrosis, Richie became the youngest recipient of a double-lung transplant at the age of six in 1996.  Eight years later, as Richie enter high school, his body began to reject his lungs, and he passed away in 2007 at the age of 17, seven months shy of his high school graduation.

Richie loved the game of basketball and cherished memories with the team.  This special game will honor his life and will help to promote organ donation to people of all ages, the mission of the nonprofit organization named in his memory, Richie’s Spirit Foundation.  Jordan Herskowitz, Richie’s older brother and Executive Director of the Foundation, will make a special half-time presentation in honor of Richie.

All proceeds from the post-event reception will benefit Richie’s Spirit Foundation.  Tickets for the reception are available here.  For more information, please contact info@richiesspirit.org.
